Supreme Court on Smartphone Deleted Messages: Nowadays, most people have a smartphone in their hands. Whenever a crime happens somewhere, the first thing that is done is to search the criminal’s smartphone to find some evidence. But many times messages, photos or videos are deleted from the phone. In one such case, the deleted messages in the mobile have been made the basis before the Supreme Court. Deleting messages and calls from the smartphone has been presented as tampering with evidence. However, the Supreme Court said in this case that deleting messages from a smartphone is not considered a crime.

In such a situation, people shift from old smartphones to new smartphones. In such a situation, the links, photos, messages or videos present in the old phone can be deleted. The bench of Justice BR and KV Vishwanathan said that mobiles are upgraded from time to time, due to which old messages in the phone can be deleted. Also, the court has considered the smartphone as a private thing. That is why messages and other documents or videos, photos are deleted due to privacy in the smartphone.
Along with this, mobile experts say that unnecessary messages, photos and videos should be deleted from the phone from time to time. Because having more storage sometimes reduces the speed of the phone. That is why it is advisable to empty the phone regularly to increase the speed of the phone.

For your information, let us tell you that recently the central government has made changes in the IT Act and added new rules. This change has been made especially to control social media. Whereas for mobile phones, action is taken according to the sections of the Indian Constitution.
According to the new rules, if any person threatens someone by calling or messaging from his mobile, then he can be fined under Indian law. He may also have to go to jail. Also, according to the Supreme Court’s decision, sharing the name and photo of a rape victim on social media or mobile phone will also be considered a legal offense. Strict action will be taken against the person doing so.
